21st-Century Learning

Learning a Foreign Language in 21st-Century

As the world changes and develops, so do we and our needs. Let's think more specifically; we are in the 21st century. To keep up with the era, many innovations are needed in education too. In this writing, I will look at these innovations from an educational point of view.

I have created a word cloud about this issue. You may see it on the bottom. These are the words that come to my mind when hearing 21st-century learning.

21st-century learning requires a couple of things from students like; creativity and critical thinking. Yes, we must have 21st-century skills, but these skills are things that will make our lives simpler in the future. That makes 21st-century learning is lifelong learning. We will need everything that we have achieved in the learning process for the rest of our lives.

Regarding second language learning, most of the students in my country try to learn foreign languages through movies, songs, etc. We can reach them through the ınternet, of course. I also benefited from the opportunities of the internet while learning English. 21st-century skills can be acquired through the internet. That's why I believe the ınternet should be used in teaching a foreign language.
